La Federación Costarricense de Fútbol (the Costa Rican Football Federation) today announced the Costa Rica Men’s National Team roster for two (2) Concacaf Nations League matches during the October FIFA window, with Austin FC defender Julio Cascante named in the squad.
Cascante will join Costa Rica for an away match against Suriname on Friday, October 11 in Paramaribo, and for an home match against Guatemala on Tuesday, October 15 in San José.
Cascante, 30, joined Austin FC ahead of the Club’s inaugural season in 2021. He has made 112 MLS appearances for Austin across the regular season and playoffs, contributing 10 goals and 12 assists. His seven (7) goal contributions in the 2022 season were tied for the most among all MLS center backs.
Cascante has 10 previous senior international appearances for Costa Rica, and scored his first career international goal on September 12, 2023 vs. United Arab Emirates.
