La Federación Costarricense de Fútbol (the Costa Rican Football Federation) today announced the Costa Rica Men’s National Team roster for two (2) Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal matches against Panama during the November FIFA window, with Austin FC defender Julio Cascante named in the squad.
Los Ticos will face Panama in a two-legged tie. The first leg will take place at home in San José on Thursday, November 14, and the second away in Panama City on Monday, November 18. Costa Rica finished in first place in its Concacaf Nations League group with eight (8) points from four (4) matches.
Cascante, 31, joined Austin FC ahead of the Club’s inaugural season in 2021. He has made 115 MLS appearances for Austin across the regular season and playoffs, contributing nine (9) goals and 10 assists. His seven (7) goal contributions in the 2022 season were tied for the most among all MLS center backs.
Cascante has 11 previous senior international appearances for Costa Rica, and scored his first career international goal on September 12, 2023 vs. United Arab Emirates.
