Austin FC Outlook

Austin FC is coming off a two-week break in action, following a double away match week at the beginning of October. The Verde & Black earned an impressive 1-0 victory at Portland Timbers before suffering a 2-1 defeat vs. LA Galaxy to end their playoff qualification hopes for the year. Austin’s sole goal of the night came from Sebastián Driussi, his 50th for the Club in all competitions, in the 55th minute.

The Verde & Black now turn their attention to Colorado Rapids at Q2 Stadium. Though Austin won’t be taking part in the postseason this year, there’s still reason to push for a victory to close out the 2024 season on a high note in front of their home fans this Saturday.

Brad Stuver, who made a single match career high 11 saves in the win over Portland, is among the favorites to win MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and will look to underscore his credentials in the year’s final match.

Colorado Rapids Outlook

Colorado Rapids are coming off a 1-0 defeat against Seattle Sounders FC at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park earlier this month. Seattle’s Albert Rusnák managed to find the back of the net at the beginning of the second half to claim the victory for the visitors.

Colorado currently sit in sixth place in the Western Conference with an overall record of 15-13-5. Colorado has not found much success on the road this season, with an away record of 5-9-2. The Rapids have already punched their ticket to the playoffs despite having a rollercoaster season but can improve their seeding with a win or draw this Saturday.

Colorado and Austin also met at Q2 Stadium on Decision Day 2022, a match which ended in a 1-1 draw. Current Austin forward Diego Rubio scored for the Rapids in that game.
