Austin FC Outlook
Austin FC is looking to bounce back after falling against Colorado Rapids last weekend. Austin now turns its attention to the team’s first home match in three weeks, a matchup against LAFC on Wednesday night.
Wednesday’s match is the second of three games in eight days for Austin. Austin will hope to build on an impressive home record so far this season. The Verde & Black are 5-2-2 at Q2 Stadium in 2024, and with a trip to face Minnesota United on Saturday night, securing the win at home takes on added importance.
One of Austin’s best-ever home performances came against LAFC in 2022, when the team won 4-1 against the eventual champions.
LAFC Outlook
LAFC is currently sitting in 2nd place in the Western Conference, with a record of 10-3-4. LAFC’s 3-1 win over Orlando City SC was the team’s eighth consecutive victory across all competitions andsixth straight in the league.
LAFC had two different goal scorers against Orlando, Denis Bouanga and Mateusz Bogusz, with the game winner coming in the 80th minute. After not winning any of their opening five road games this season, LAFC has won each of its last three away from home.
LAFC has not been held scoreless since March 16, a streak which Brad Stuver and the Verde & Black defense will aim to break.
