The Verde & Black now turn their attention to Portland Timbers, the first match of two this week out West. The team now knows it needs to collect maximum points from its final three games in order to have a chance to reach the playoffs.

Portland Timbers Outlook

Portland Timbers are coming off a 1-1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC last Saturday night. Vancouver took the lead in the third minute when Brian White fired in a cross from Sebastian Berhalter. Before the end of the first half, Portlandā€™s Jonathan RodrĆguez scored the equalizer.

The Timbers currently sit right above the playoff line in 9th place in Western Conference with an overall record of 12-10-9. Portland can clinch a playoff spot with a win against Austin.

The Verde & Black will have to slow down Portlandā€™s high-powered attack which has scored 64 goals, the most in the Western Conference. Evander has put together an incredible season, a top candidate in the MVP race with 15 goals and 18 assists.
