Austin FC fell in a 1-0 defeat against Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium.

Austin had a handful of chances in the opening minutes of the match before both teams settled in for the majority of the first half. It continued to be an even match on the other side of the break, with Brad Stuver making a key save to deny Houston’s Ibrahim Aliyu in the 59th minute.

The teams continued to search for a winner in the closing stages, and ATXFC came close when Alex Ring’s bicycle kick attempt hit the cross bar. Though Austin created the better chances on the night, Coco Carrasquilla then scored the game’s only goal from a corner kick at the other end to win the match in the 83rd minute for Houston.
