Austin FC fell 3-1 to FC Dallas away at Toyota Stadium on Wednesday night.
FC Dallas opened the score early in the 10th minute when midfielder Paul Arriola found the back of the net on a counterattack. Austin came up with a quick response though, as Dani Pereira slipped Gyasi Zardes a clever pass to score the equalizer in the 16th minute. The Verde & Black entered half time leading in possession, shots on goal, and total passes.
An eventful start to the second half saw Dallas awarded a penalty in the 56th minute. Brad Stuver saved Petar Musa’s initial attempt but was adjudged to have been off his line, and Musa converted his second try. Down to 10 men for the final 30 minutes, Austin pushed forward in search of another tying goal. Dallas added a third in the 74th minute to seal the result.
