St. Louis, MISSOURI (April 14, 2024) – Austin FC fell 1-0 against St. Louis CITY SC on Sunday evening at CITYPARK.
St. Louis received two (2) yellow cards during a physical first half in which Austin had the majority of the possession. The Verde & Black almost opened the scoring moments before halftime when Alex Ring’s shot was blocked by a sliding St. Louis defender.
Austin started the second half pushing for the opening goal but ultimately conceded in the 57th minute via a right footed shot by St. Louis’s João Klauss. Klauss’ strike proved to be the only goal of a tightly-contested match as the home side claimed a win.
