Austin FC midfielder and captain Sebastián Driussi was named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday for his performance in Austin’s 4-3 home win over San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium. Driussi earns his first Team of the Matchday selection of the 2024 season.
After missing the first three (3) games of the 2024 season through injury, Driussi picked up his first two (2) goals of the campaign to spur Austin’s comeback victory over San Jose. With the team trailing 2-0 in the 62nd minute, the Argentine converted a penalty to kickstart momentum.
When the match was tied 3-3 in second half stoppage time, Driussi scored with an accurate first-time strike off Gyasi Zardes’ layoff in the 101st minute. The goal was the latest scored in Austin FC history and won the match for the Verde & Black.

In addition to his brace, Driussi completed a game-high four (4) successful dribbles, won six (6) duels, and made four (4) recoveries.
