Throughout his time with Austin FC, goalkeeper Brad Stuver has become a fan favorite for his play on the field and his involvement with the community off it. Now in his fourth year with the team, Stuver is arguably having his best season yet. He’s drawing attention as a potential MLS All-Star because of it.
At the midway point of the season, Stuver ranks second in MLS in goals saved above average (4.52). He also ranks third in save percentage (78 percent). Stuver is the only goalkeeper in the league to rank among the top three in both of those key barometers that measure how much a keeper is helping their team. He has ranked among the top eight in goals saved above average each of the last three seasons.
Stuver’s 78 saves rank first among MLS goalkeepers by some distance. The next closest goalkeeper is 15 saves behind Austin’s shot-stopper. He’s also reliable on the ball when called upon, averaging the second most passes per game of any GK in the league (30.27).
