Austin FC defender Žan Kolmanič was voted to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday bench for his role in the team’s 3-2 home win over Colorado Rapids on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium. Kolmanič earns his first Team of the Matchday honor of 2024.
Entering the match as a 75th minute substitute with Austin losing 2-1, Kolmanič played a key part in turning the scoreline around. He assisted Ethan Finlay with a cross from the left flank in the 91st minute to help the Verde & Black equalize, then set up Brendan Hines-Ike to head in the winner two (2) minutes later with a clever chipped cutback from the endline.
Kolmanič now has nine (9) career assists in MLS play for Austin FC.
