Austin FC forward Gyasi Zardes was voted to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday for his role in the team’s 2-1 home win over New York City FC on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium. Zardes earns his first Team of the Matchday honor of 2024.
Zardes scored both of the team’s goals on the night and is now the 10th leading scorer in MLS history with 105 career goals to his name. His first was a header just before halftime to level the score, and his second was a clinical far-post finish after making a run in behind the NYCFC defense.
