This fall, 4ATX Foundation partnered with Capital Area Youth Soccer Association to award 28 club soccer scholarships to local players across Central Texas. Scholarships were distributed to players ranging from U4 – U19 across all CAYSA leagues and CAYSA-affiliated clubs.
"4ATX Foundation is delighted to continue our partnership with CAYSA for a fifth consecutive year," said Kaitlin Mauro, 4ATX Foundation Executive Director. "This ongoing collaboration expands access to the sport of soccer for young athletes throughout Central Texas. We are so excited to announce our five incredible winners who have made positive impact they've made in their community.”
As part of this initiative, five athletes received the newly established Oak Scholarship pres. by MFS. Applicants were required to submit written essays that highlighted their love for soccer, passion for the community, and commitment to leadership. The following recipients were awarded the Oak Scholarship pres. by MFS:
- Santiago Martinez, 13
- Yarell Roman Moreno, 13
- Andres Paita, 9
- Abdush Shaheed Oliver, 15
- Arturo Ordonez Jr, 17
“Beyond personal growth, soccer has also allowed me to make a meaningful impact in my community. I’ve been refereeing for little kids since I turned 13 and in doing so, sharing my love for the game and helping them develop their skills,” said Oak Scholarship winner Abdush Shaheed Oliver.
All five winners and families were in attendance at the September 28th Austin FC match against Real Salt Lake. Each was honored with a certificate and a live shot on the stadium’s video board, a moment that recognized their achievements and contributions.
“MFS takes great pride in partnering with 4ATX Foundation to make a positive impact for each scholarship recipient.” said Haynes Dallas, CEO of Managed Facility Solutions “We are honored to work with Austin FC and 4ATX to give back to the local Austin community, and help pave the way for each scholarship recipient to excel as leaders locally and nationwide in their future endeavors.”
With this year’s scholarships, 4ATX has now invested a total of $65,000 in club scholarships, further demonstrating 4ATX Foundation’s commitment to supporting young athletes.
