In 2023, 4ATX Foundation and Netspend joined together to support local soccer programs by providing new soccer nets to schools and community organizations in need. The year-end donation event of nets and portable futsal goals went to Palm Elementary School on December 15th.
“We are proud and grateful to continue turning Central Texas Verde one net at a time,” said Kaitlin Mauro, Executive Director of 4ATX Foundation. “Our partnership with Netspend has allowed us to promote the growth of soccer by providing equipment essential to getting people playing over the last four years.”
As part of the event, 4ATX Foundation hosted a P.E. class takeover where kids could start their day with soccer. Volunteers from the Foundation set up stations for soccer activities and ended the session with a scrimmage to break in the nets.
“Our school community is excited and grateful for the generous donation of soccer goals and nets. This donation supports Palm's commitment towards fostering physical activity and sports in our community,” said Emmanuel Gonzalez, P.E. Teacher at Palm Elementary School. “The students and the community will now have access to a safe and engaging soccer field.”
With this donation, Netspend & 4ATX have collectively donated 160 nets to schools and programs in need across the greater Central Texas area.
"As a founding sponsor partner of Austin FC, seeing our Netspend brand on Verde jersey sleeves and associated with 4ATX's work in our community is a huge source of pride," said Yvonne Devany, Vice President of Global Partnerships for Netspend and other Ouro brands. "We treasure our connection to this organization and are thrilled to have been able to donate 160 soccer nets to select Austin area schools in need."
